Samsung Electronics announced today that it has won a total of 71 awards, including three gold, at the International Forum (iF) 2022 Design Award, the prestigious German international design competition.

Samsung Electronics won gold awards for its The Freestyle portable monitor, Galaxy Z Flip3 mobile phone and Bespoke Slim cordless vacuum cleaner. This year, Samsung received the most awards out of 11,000 entries from 57 countries.

Founded in 1953 as Die Gute Industrieform eV, the iF Design Award conducts comprehensive assessments of differentiation and impact, among others, in a total of nine categories – product, packaging, communication, professional concept, interior architecture, architecture, service design, user experience (UX), user interface ( UI).

“It is important for design to connect changing values with innovative technologies,” said Jinsoo Kim, Executive Vice President, Corporate Design Center at Samsung Electronics. “We are committed to providing a meaningful experience that meets the different requirements of customers and improves our quality of life.”

Freestyle is a portable monitor that can display up to 254 cm in diagonal length depending on the environment in which it is used, whether it is on a wall, ceiling or floor as it rotates 180 degrees.

With its light weight and simple design, the Freestyle is extremely portable, allowing the user to hold it with one hand, and can be used as easily indoors and outdoors as on camping sites. Depending on everyone’s lifestyle, it can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker or as an ambient lamp that can flash the light in different colors.

Galaxy Z Flip3 is honored for its iconic and compact design that comes with premium features and exclusive foldable experiences, providing a truly personalized smartphone experience. Thanks to the unique form factor of the Galaxy Z Flip3, users can enjoy the full smartphone experience when opened and its pocket-friendly design when folded in half. Not only does the design improve by providing a large cover screen, but it also increases usability by allowing users to view notifications and snap a quick photo even when folded.

The Bespoke Slim vacuum cleaner also won the Gold Award for its simple design that blends well with the surrounding living space. The concept of Bespoke, providing products tailored to suit lifestyles and tastes, was applied to the product, improving the experience throughout the entire cleaning process from product storage to dust discharge.

Recognizing its designs in all categories at the iF Design Award 2022 including the product and user interface (UI), Samsung Electronics has won the most awards totaling 71.

In addition to the three gold awards, the Neo QLED 8K, bespoke French Door Refrigerator and Galaxy Buds2 won awards in the product category.
