The University of Portland's Instagram accounts are anonymous. Images are often posted to accounts like upportland, portlandpilots, and up_admissions, but unlike typical social media accounts, these pages don't give an inside look to the people who manage them.
Just because we don't see their faces doesn't mean there aren't real people behind these posts. Here's a look at what some of the students behind these Instagram accounts do when they're not around the clock:
Maggie Bloomer, up_admissions
Maggie Bloomer, Senior Organizational Communications, operates the Instagramup_admissions account as the Social Media Coordinator in the Office of Admissions.
Outside of her social media post, Bloomer finds happiness in marketing and sales. Growing up, the Bloomer family owned a chocolate company. Going to conferences and being with other businessmen with her father, Bloomer said, is a cherished memory.

“I grew up all around work and have always loved the brand
Bloomer said. "I love those things."
After graduation, Bloomer is considering taking some time to travel before moving on to an admissions position at a university, perhaps in her hometown of Chicago.
Bloomer also has a passion for music. Her favorite artists include Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, and Harry Styles.
Bloomer said Harry Styles is an artist who has had a relationship of her own since growing up with One Direction.
The music is another bonding experience between Bloomer and her dad, with her he listens to some of her favorite artists.
“In high school, I went to prom like once a month, I love concerts and smaller venues,” Bloomer said. "He's always been really supportive of that and that's the thing that I think has brought us so close to each other."
Evan Luke, portlandpilots
Evan Lewicki is a graduate student in communications at UP and is the student behind the portlandpilots Instagram account, where photography plays a major role.
In terms of the visual aspect of his job, Luecke also enjoys graphic design, which he learned a lot from on YouTube. Luecke loves design like developing apps and solving problems in user experience.

Luecke also enjoys photography on and off the job, including taking some nature photos.
Getting out into nature is a popular topic for Luecke as he enjoys running and surfing.
Luecke picked up surfing in 2015 and tries to take a surfing trip at least once a year, although it can be difficult while living in Oregon.
"I didn't get a chance [surf] "Here because it's cold," Lewicki said. "Huntington was where I first started, so there was a little love there and then Hawaii North Shore."
Luecke also loves to run, with a weekly mileage of around 50 to 70 miles. There are some weeks he goes by where he runs more miles than he drives, Lewicki said.
"It's an escape, it's a way for me to clear my mind and just kind of relieve stress and anxiety," Luecke said.
Gabe Eugenio, upportland
Senior Nursing Student Gaby Eugenio runs the official account @upportland.
"Like everything else in my life, I feel like I just fell into it," Eugenio said. "I just applied for like probably seven or eight jobs, and that was the business that got off."

Being a social media worker student, Eugenio must be creative with the stories that appear on the Instagram page.
Away from his Instagram page, Eugenio likes to fill his spare time with activities that allow him to be creative, such as photography and videography.
Eugenio was a high school videographer who worked as a freelance photographer and videographer. Eugenio finds inspiration in his desire to capture moments in other people's lives.
Eugenio first became interested in photography on a family vacation when his mother gave him an old camera. Since that family vacation, Eugenio has learned how to use more advanced cameras and how to edit YouTube videos.
As it progressed, Eugenio began creating advertisements for small businesses and coffee shops. Currently, Eugenio is helping a friend make a music video.
One of Eugenio's favorite moments captured is from a trip to Costa Rica he took when he was 18.
"It's such a different way of covering that I was able to take pictures with the camera," Eugenio said. "I was really proud of the way I portrayed it to be honest."
