Development on The Wild Update for Minecraft is officially in full swing for both versions, and Mojang Studios is showing no signs of slowing down. On Thursday, the studio began releasing a duo of new betas for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft Preview, which include a new item, lots of tweaks and changes to existing features, and even a hint of an upcoming feature.

The Redemption Compass element that debuted with Minecraft: Java Snapshot is now appearing in this beta, and will lead players to the location of their final death. Mojang Studios has also revealed that it’s working on a much-needed “Scenes Mode” for Minecraft, which won’t arrive in time for The Wild Update, but will arrive as a beta feature in an upcoming beta.

The beta is now available for players signed up for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition beta or Minecraft Preview, and it’s a surprisingly good step forward toward developing The Wild Update that was released later in 2022. When the update arrives, it will include new mobs like frogs, Warden, and allays , new biomes like Mangrove Swamp, Deep Dark, and more.

Minecraft is one of the best Xbox games available today, and Mojang Studios intends to improve it even further with The Wild Update later this year. Interested players can enter early with Trial Picks and Trials.

The complete changelog for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Beta 1.19.0.24 / Minecraft Preview 1.19.0.25 includes:

public

Minecraft preview on Xbox Series X | S.

  • Xbox Series X players may receive | S error message ( . symbol 0x8b050033) when running Minecraft Preview
  • Uninstall and reinstall Minecraft Preview to complete the update and resolve the error

spectator mode

  • Some of our more interested players may have noticed that last week’s beta and preview contains early functionality that supports spectator gameplay, which was accidentally provided in the game.
  • We know this is the most important request for the Bedrock version of Minecraft, and our developers have worked hard to bring this feature to you
  • We are currently developing the first iteration of Spectator Mode to get your feedback to plan the next iteration. However, we still have a lot of work to do! The first iteration won’t end in time for 1.19, so we’ll move it to a beta switch in an upcoming beta
  • Until we have a more polished version for you, please keep in mind that any content or maps based on this feature will not be supported as this feature will change and evolve
  • We won’t accept spectator mode bug reports until the first iteration is released, as the feature will likely change during development

Features and bug fixes

recovery compass

  • A new recovery compass can be made using echo shards that can only be found and are unique to ancient city chests
    • Unlike a normal compass, a recovery compass will point to the last place you died
    • If you are not in the dimension where you died last, or you have not yet died in your world, you will rotate randomly
    • Can be made with a single compass surrounded by 8 echo fragments
    • Echo Shards will be available as loot in ancient cities in a future update

skolk cry

  • Modify the screaming particles of Sculk Shrieker
  • Sculk Shriekers should not be triggered by Redstone activation
  • added can_summonblockstate to Sculk Shriekers who determines if Shrieker can run Warden. Only Sculk Shriekers who were placed during the Generation of the Realm in Deep Dark and Ancient Cities would have this status for what it is.
  • Escaping a Sculk’s scream while screaming is no longer a viable way to prevent a guard from being summoned
  • Sculk Shrieker no longer tries to spawn Warden in Peaceful Mode
  • Sculk Shrieker now publishes the highest threat level among players in the vicinity, not the threat level to the nearest player

a guard

  • Warden now has a painful animation when taking damage
  • Fixed a bug where Warden’s ribcage UV rays were interfering with the right flying UV rays
  • Warden will now prioritize players over mobs when angry
  • Warden’s suspect tracking game behavior has been improved, Warden’s “sniffing” range has been increased
  • Warden in Creative mode no longer applies a dark effect to the player

Deep reinforced

  • The reinforced deep pistons can no longer be pushed out

frog

  • Froglight and Frogspawn blocks now have new sounds
  • Frog spawn is now called Frogspawn

Goat horn (experimental)

  • Goat horn sound is now instant
  • Goat horn variations added to the Pilger outposts
  • remove the copper horn
    • Although community feedback was mostly positive, the Copper Horn was a fun experience that didn’t live up to our design goals, so we decided to remove it.
    • We understand that people can be sad, but in order to be able to try new and interesting things we need to be able to remove experimental features sometimes. This leaves room for better features in the future!

Touch controls

  • The player can now change the slot of the quick bar item while in the boat

calm down

  • Fixed a crash that could occur if a non-owner player takes an item from Allay while chasing its owner

  • Blocks affected by gravity now fall correctly on replaceable blocks
  • The panels can now be placed continuously

  • Fixed an issue where clicking the top row of pixels for a button in the new Create New World screen would not trigger the action correctly

graphic
