Is "BotW 2" too advanced for the current transformer? Analysts weigh

Besides the news from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2After delaying until 2023, Nintendo has released new screenshots of the highly-anticipated game—the one, despite being clocked in just seven seconds. Through digital foundry Podcast (as reposted by GamesRadar), it has been speculated that BOTW 2 The shots weren’t, in fact, working on the Nintendo Switch, but behind it, whether it was an additional upgrade to the Switch Pro, or the Switch 2. This could mean BOTW 2 Will it overtake the Nintendo Switch?

Experts don’t think it’s likely. To get to the bottom of this, inverse He spoke with two analysts: Dr. Serkan Tutu, CEO of Kantan Games, and George Jejiashvili, Principal Analyst at Omdia, about Nintendo’s potential plans for a successor to the Switch, and how this relates to BOTW 2.

he is BotW 2 Graphically intense to run on a standard switch?

Regardless of whether the last BOTW 2 shot runs on a more powerful device, the game will continue to run on the original Switch.nintendo

Impossible to know if it was the last BOTW 2 The trailer was running on a different platform, but analysts are confident the game will be available for the standard Nintendo Switch system.

Dr. Serkan Tutu thinks it could be BOTW 2 The footage may have been running on more advanced hardware, but that doesn’t mean the game will overtake the original Nintendo Switch.

“I personally think [Digital Foundry is] Made a good case here, I won’t bet my life, but an impressive amount of money BOTW 2 The launch will be accompanied by a new/upgraded Switch next year,” says Toto.

George Zhijiashvili notes that “we can speculate on this all day,” but the most important takeaway is that no matter what platform the BOTW 2 The footage was playing — Nintendo will Release the game for the current Switch model as well.

“I Certain Nintendo will ensure that BOTW 2 It performs well enough for current Switch owners to enjoy.”

“Nintendo will undoubtedly want to have it BOTW 2 on as many consoles as possible,” says Zhijiashvili inverse. “Limit BOTW 2 To Switch 2 owners only, it will not be commercially viable.”

Will the successor to the Nintendo Switch be launched alongside BotW 2?

It’s unlikely that the Switch 2 will run alongside BOTW 2, but maybe that’s when the Switch Pro could make an appearance.nintendo

Nintendo has a history of releasing Zelda games across multiple generations, such as Twilight Princess For GameCube, Wii, and Breath of the wild For Wii U and Nintendo Switch. It could definitely be released by Nintendo BOTW 2 For the Switch and its successor but not counting on the company’s next major platform (like Switch 2) for its spring 2023 launch.

Nintendo might be late BOTW 2 For launch alongside Switch 2, possibly until late 2023 or early 2024.

“We know that Nintendo is not shy about delaying games if they feel they are not ready yet,” adds Jijiashvili. So we cannot completely rule out BOTW 2 Plays at the same time as Switch 2, if game continues to lag Metroid Prime 4. “

But what about the Switch Pro? For a while, analysts and reports have suggested an incremental switch upgrade possibility is in the works — similar to the difference between the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Toto thinks it’s reasonable to run the Switch Pro, not the Switch 2, side by side BOTW 2.

“Instead of Switch 2, I think it’s the appearance of a Mystic Pro [model] It would be more reasonable to support the launch BOTW 2, ” tutu says inverse.

This can explain why the latter BotW 2 The footage looked pretty good, without convincing the theory that the game would start with a proper Switch 2.

When will Switch 2 be released?

Although the Nintendo Switch OLED model is an upgrade from the original version, it doesn’t have any performance improvements, which means the Switch Pro may still be on the way.nintendo

A suitable successor to the Nintendo Switch is inevitable, but it will likely be two years before it comes out, at least according to analysts. The delay could be due to supply shortages, which have plagued device makers since 2020.

“Problems with supplying key components have not gone away yet, and this is something that all hardware manufacturers will have to face over the coming years,” explains Zhijiashvili.

The other factor has to do with how well the Nintendo Switch sells. As of December 2021, the system has reached 103 million units sold, surpassing Wii’s lifetime sales, which capped at 101 million units.

Why are we making a new system when the current one shows no signs of stopping?

Toto reminds us that Nintendo President Furukawa “said the Switch is in the middle of its lifecycle in 2020, 2021 and 2022” and that the system is still selling “like hot cakes,” so there’s little need for a generational leap just yet.

“Release the Switch 2 in 2023, after its launch in 2017, wouldn’t make much sense given how well the original Switch sold,” Toto adds.

So when will the Switch 2 be released? Jijiashvili explains: “According to our latest console forecast, we expect Switch 2 in the first quarter of 2024. We believe the earliest it might reach is the 2023 holiday.”

Therefore, even if the screenshots shown are in a file BOTW 2 The delay announcement runs on a newer, more powerful platform, and you can be sure the game will launch for the original Switch as well — along with Switch 2, most likely at the end of 2023 or 2024.
