Location services are one of the most important permissions you can grant (or deny) on your phone. Many apps rely on location services to do their job. For example, your maps app needs permission to use location services to know where you are and to provide driving or walking directions. Other apps that only rely on knowing your location for some features may partially work if location services are not enabled.
Whether you’re using an iPhone or Android device, it’s easy to turn location services on or off globally or enable location services for specific apps.
How to enable location services on Android
By default, your Android phone activates the global location service, but you must allow each app you install. If location services are turned off for your Android phone, you can turn them back on with a few taps. start Settings application and tap Location. If it’s off, turn it on Use location by sliding the button to the right.
Make sure Location Services is enabled so your phone knows where you are.

You should also check individual apps. If you want to make sure that a particular app has location services enabled, tap . App location permissions and find the app in the list. How to disable location services on Android
If you want to improve your privacy or extend your phone’s battery life, you may want to disable location services – but this will make using your phone significantly less convenient because so many apps depend on knowing where you are. If you want to disable location services globally so that no app knows where you are, Settings application and tap Location. If it’s on, turn it off Use location by sliding the button to the left.
You can turn off Location Services for each app on your phone at the same time.

Alternatively, you can disable location services for specific apps only. On the Location page in Settings, tap . App location permissions and find an app in the list. Tap and select the app not allow. Alternatively, you can choose ask every time, this means that each time the app is launched you will decide whether you want to enable location services for that app or not. This is not very convenient, but a versatile choice.
